Pork was historically a staple in the diets of Standard, Miniature and Toy Poodles, as well as Pit Bulls, Manchester (Rat) Terriers, Pugs, Pekingese, Shar-peis, Shnauzers.
Diced USDA Choice Pork: Lean pork provides all 9 essential amino acids in an easily digestible form. It helps to build and repair tissues throughout the body and a small amount provides over half of the RDA for different nutrients a dog needs. It also is high in:
• Vitamin B1which helps in carbohydrate and protein digestion and a lack of which can cause central nervous system disorders and muscle weakness
• Vitamin B2 does much the same as B1 but also helps with cell growth and a lack of it can cause skin lesions, excess shedding and an oily coat.
• Vitamin B3 stimulates circulation, processes amino acids, and aids in HCL production. A deficiency of this can manifest itself in dermatitis, diarrhea and dementia.
